TUSCANY & UMBRIA WINE TOUR (April 28 – May 7, 2025)
This tour is a great journey into the heart of Italy to discover the Renaissance art of Tuscany and the top wineries of central Italy, crafted to ride only in the morning and to enjoy La Dolce Vita every single afternoon.
Six days experiencing the scenic curvy backroads of Tuscany and Umbria, as well as one rest day to explore the beautiful town of Florence. But also time to relax and enjoy the pleasure of Italian top wines and central Italian food.
The lovely resort close to Siena has a spectacular view overlooking the Chianti vineyards; nestled into the center of a wonderful winery with 4 stars food, the Wine Resort Hotel in Orvieto has a spa with whirlpool, Turkish bath, and sauna.
The tour starts and ends in Rome which allows easy planning to extend your visit to this fabulous city should you want to.

Climate: We can be experiencing the full range of weather conditions on this ride. We are in the top end at the best time of year, spring, and the days will be warm and sunny with little to no rain. As we ride center of Italy the nights will be temperate, but again the days should be superb.
Welcome to Rome.
From the airport you will be transferred by a VIP private car to your hotel. Here you will find the Moto Tours Italy staff, ready to warmly welcome you to Italy.
Morning or early afternoon arrival is strongly recommended.
In the late afternoon we will be waiting for you in the hotel bar for a Meet and Greet amongst tour colleagues. We’ll then go and pick up the bikes and bring them back to the hotel garage.
Once back at the hotel the Moto Tours Italy staff will give a general briefing of the tour details, and will be happy to answer any questions.
We are now ready to go out for our Welcome Dinner during which you’ll learn more about what to expect in the exciting upcoming days.
We leave Rome by train to reach and enjoy the Art of Florence.
Rest day and bike pick-up.
We will leave the splendid Florence and immediately enter the heart of our motorcycle trip, savoring an appetizer of Tuscany and curves in these wonderful roads, we will catapult ourselves directly into Chianti, starting to experience the sensations and emotions that this land will be able to transmit to us.
Open the visor of your helmet and… breathe Tuscany.
We leave after a wonderful breakfast in our resort for the first loop of Chianti, we will travel through the Tuscan hills east of Siena, we will pass through splendid villages such as Radda in Chianti, Panzano in Chianti and Greve in Chianti. All immersed in the magic of the vineyards among the most famous in Italy. Finally we will pass through Gaiole in Chianti, very famous for being the start of the “eroica” the famous vintage bicycle race, set in a crazy scenario between the Tuscan hills and farms that extends for over 200km of which most on dirt roads.
Today we are going to discover the western part of Siena, mainly we will go to the splendid San Gimignano, a city famous for its 72 towers (currently only 14 are left standing) and its intact and magnificent historic center. We will drive along the Tuscan hills appreciating beautiful views and exciting roads.
We leave Siena heading south towards the Crete Senesi, famous for its stunning moonscape.
After a short ride we will take a break in the beautiful city of Pienza, considered to be the incarnation of a Renaissance utopia and an ideal city. Having obtained recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996, today it continues to show off to the world its refined and sophisticated Renaissance urban plan. Its spaces and perspective into its 15th-Century “piazze and palazzo” are organized according to the era’s ideals of rationality and humanism.
After lunch we saddle up again for a fantastic plunge on the winding roads of the “Green Umbria”, heading towards Orvieto where we’ll spend the next 3 nights.
Just to finish the day in the best possible way, we’ll experience a classic “Umbrian Tasting Dinner”, washed down with local wines that the hotel produces from the vineyards that surround it.
Finally today we will travel the most beautiful roads in the Orvieto area, we immediately go up towards Prodo, along the legendary road of the “castellana” where the Cronoscalata takes place, which is part of the Italian mountain speed championship. Soon after we will arrive in an enchanted place, out of time.
The castle of Titignano, an ancient medieval village immersed in the green Umbrian hills, which will offer us a breathtaking view of Lake Corbara.
We will then continue towards Todi, an ancient medieval city, very famous for Jacopo De Benedetti, better known as Jacopone da Todi.
After a short stop we will return to Orvieto along the ss448 road that runs along Lake Corbara, a very beautiful road full of curves.
We return to the hotel for a well-deserved rest, ready for an evening dedicated to the excellent Umbrian delicacies.
It may be our last riding day, heading back to Rome, but it will certainly not be an unforgettable one as we will be riding on some of the best roads of Umbria and Lazio.
Our first stop is the historic Civita di Bagnoregio, an enchanted town, perched as if by magic, on a rock of tufo.
We will then wind our way back to Rome on more fantastic twisty roads.
Unfortunately time has come to say Arrivederci to your new buddies and pack your bags.
Today you will be transferred to the airport according to your flight schedule.
